At stage two of Touchstones12’s recovery programme, residents have far more freedom. During the evening clients will be able to stay out until late evening and further will be allowed to stay away over night at the weekend (Home visits etc).
Clients will still be expected to complete chores and to take responsibility within a group setting.
The programme continues at stage two with a new sense of growth. Work is now completed in the morning and compliments the first stage by completing steps six to twelve. Life skills / education work is now enhanced by practical work related activates such as voluntary work or involvement in the community. Essentially the aim is to help individuals to learn practical skills to achieve independent living. Resettlement issues are addressed, issues surrounding education, careers, housing and finance are explored, leisure activates and hobbies are explored, At Touchstones12 we do not badger, label or prescribe the way people do or think about their lives and their futures, rather we value people as they are. We emphasise human experience, choice and creativity, we encourage positive growth, focusing on a persons unique potential for personal growth, self-actualization and self-realisation.
The Touchstones12 programme will provide you with some of the tools and information you require to live your life in recovery. Recovery at Touchstones12 is worked towards within a safe, supportive yet challenging environment. Someone once described a counselling session as being akin to a ‘safe emergency’ being a client at Touchstones12 is very much akin to living in a safe emergency.
The Touchstones12 approach to recovery is not a passive process, neither is it a soft option, rather it is both demanding and challenging, it will leave you tired, if not exhausted, at times you may well feel challenged and fed up, fed up with the demands that you make of yourself, ultimately if you engage in the Touchstones12 programme it will set you well on your road in recovery
The Touchstones12 programme is delivered ‘one day at a time’, in two stages. Please view stage one and stage Two on this site.upported and encouraged.
